It’s been a bit of a ride since the last time I sat down a wrote an article. The COVID-19 pandemic changed a lot of people’s lives, including mine. The world came to a screeching halt in March 2020. During that time, I continued working and we purchased our first house while interest rates were low. We began renovating our house on the 2nd day of owning it.
Let me just tell you… Renovating a house from 1960, in a small town, during a pandemic where supplies are hard to get your hands on, is a challenge. But challenge or not, we kept pushing forward. Asking friends for help when we could get it and spending hours working in the same room for days at a time.
Two months into home ownership, we had finally started moving in and found out two weeks later that we were expecting our first child! Sophie was born in January of 2021. Not long after Sophie was born, I began taking all the classes required to get my real estate license in Colorado. I became officially licensed in April of 2021 and began building a customer base.
Fast forward to January of 2023 and we find out that I’m expecting a second child! We had been told by multiple doctors that I couldn’t have children at all and here we were, staring at another positive pregnancy test… Riley was born in August 2023. He was 5 1/2 weeks early and spent 3 weeks in the NICU. Talk about a stressful time…
At the time of publication, Sophie has just turned 3 and Riley is not quite 6 months old… My life has changed and shifted a million different ways. Now it is shifting once again! I spent 4 years testing out products on my Etsy store. I finally have started to figure out what sells. I just recently launched a podcast and have spent several days texting and emailing friends in the real estate industry and the outdoor industry scheduling guests to record episodes. I’ve got 1 episode live, 1 more ready to release, and many more scheduled to record over the next 2 months.
I am so excited to share this new stage of my life and career as I work on rebranding Kat Haas Outdoors and combining my love of the outdoor world and my passion with selling real estate!
